Memory Break
Mono, Lisbon
2022

This works are part of my exploration on weaving structures that speak about spaces of memory. These are the most recent developments on the action of weaving images (printed images on paper). These works started as an exploration of personal memories as ultimate faded images.

Disrupted surfaces of visual resemblances that merge/touch and blend with each other.

The technique of cutting the paper and weaving it is in itself about distortion. The image is still present, but it reveals itself as less objective, after the that action. It becomes more about its perception rather than the image itself.

Some of the works have been exhibited at:

It is a process of distortion both physically and visually. Always focusing In places of subjectivity, this works reveal images of transiting from place to place, landscapes and border places.

The fabric is a live urbanism and therefore things change mutate and always offer duality. Every thread passage on the action of weaving changes the image.
